Grow a stalactite

1. Take two clean jars filled with hot water.

2. Dissolve as much baking soda to each jar as possible.

3. Mix thoroughly to ensure that soda is dissolved completely.

4. Take a thread and dip each end of the thread into the jars. These ends must be weighed down with paper clips, pencils, popsicle sticks, or nails to keep them in the jars.

5. Place a saucer between the jars to collect the drips.

6. Allow the thread to hang between the jars and over the saucer.

7. Wait and watch the jars for 2-3 weeks. Will anything grow?
